A general Neurosurgeon

I trained at a time when a general Neurosurgeon took every kind of case: the brain and the spine, tumors, bleeding in the brain, hydrocephalus and head injuries, in babies, children and adults. I still practice that way, so one surgeon looks after your condition from the first consultation to follow-up.

Training the next Neurosurgeons

Neurosurgery has since become a highly specialized field. As training officer at East Avenue Medical Center, I train the next generation of Neurosurgeons. I push them to keep improving their skills and to take further training, so that neurosurgery in our country keeps moving forward.

A pediatric brain and spine center at PCMC

At the Philippine Children's Medical Center, I am building up the hospital's capacity and capability so that it can become a pediatric brain and spine center.

Why patients choose me

Clear answers, every option, and a plan that fits your budget

Many patients come to me after reading about their condition. They want to understand it before they decide, and they want their money to go to the care that makes a difference. This is what they get from me.

  1. I go through your scans with you

I show you on your own CT or MRI what I see, what it means, and how sure I am of it. You leave knowing your diagnosis in words you can repeat to your family.

  2. You hear every option, including no operation

Some conditions are safer to watch than to operate on, and I will tell you when yours is one of them. When an operation is the right choice, I explain why, what it carries in risk, and what recovery looks like.

  3. We plan the cost before you are admitted

I operate at several hospitals in Metro Manila, government and private. Where the operation is done affects the final bill a great deal. We choose the hospital together and go through the expected cost beforehand.

  4. Your care continues after the operation

I see you through surgery, recovery and follow-up. Afterwards, I send you back to your own doctor with an update and further plans if needed.
